At a price of Rs 1.36 lakh, ex-showroom, the Yamaha MT-15 has been launched in India. The motorcycle, which shares a lot with the Yamaha R15, is launched at an ongoing event the Buddh International Circuit, following which we’d ride the MT-15 on the track. So keep an eye out for our first ride review.
The new Yamaha MT-15 is powered by a 155 cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled fuel-injected engine that makes 19 bhp@10,000 rpm and 1.5 kgm@8500 rpm. The engine benefits from a Variable Valve Actuation (VVA) system and an A&S clutch, and is further complemented by a Delta box frame. The bike comes with single-channel ABS, a 140-mm-wide rear tyre, and a 245 mm front disc brake. The naked styling of the MT-15 is accentuated by a ‘minimal look’ headlamp, vertical tail lamp, a short tail, and standard body graphics. The MT-15 also boasts a minimum ground clearance of 155 mm, a weight (with oil and a full fuel tank) of 138 kilos, among other things. There are two colours on offer: Metallic Black and Dark Matt Blue.
