VinFast seems to have settled into India quicker than anyone expected, and now the Vietnamese brand is eyeing a new frontier here, electric scooters. While nothing is confirmed yet, the company is actively evaluating which of its Vietnam-spec models could work for our famously demanding, wonderfully chaotic two-wheeler market, and if things go according to plan, we could see VinFast scooters here by the end of 2026.
During a recent interaction, the company showcased six scooters from its home portfolio, the Feliz, Klara Neo, Theon S, Vero X, Vento S and Evo Grand. Their specifications are already available on the Vietnam website, but VinFast hasn’t committed to any particular model for India. For now, the approach is simple, study the market, understand how people actually use their scooters here, shortlist a few candidates, and then put them through proper testing under Indian conditions.
Pham Sanh Chau, who heads VinFast Asia, said the company is currently gathering feedback from its local team and dealer network to understand what Indian buyers really want. Interestingly, several of the brand’s existing twenty-six car dealerships have already expressed interest in retailing the scooters too, giving VinFast a ready network the moment it finalises its plans.
The scooter story isn’t the only one VinFast is exploring. The brand is also preparing to bring its electric buses to India next year, and is already in conversation with state transport undertakings across Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana for potential orders.
