The all-new GSX-R1000 and GSX-R1000R have been launched in India, priced at Rs 19 lakh and Rs 22 lakh respectively (ex-showroom, Delhi). Claimed to be the fastest and lightest version of the GSX-R, the sixth-gen bike takes the three-decade-old legacy forward.

Apart from the new look, LED head- and tail lamps, full LCD instrumentation, there’s also a lighter and more powerful engine, new lighter chassis, Showa Forks, Brembo brakes, Bridgestone RS10 radial tyres, Motion Track TCS and Braking systems, Variable Valve Timing, six-direction IMU, etc. The more focussed GSX-R1000R gets a bi-directional quick shifter, Showa Balance Free Suspension, Lean ABS, Launch Control, and even LED Position Lights.

Differentiating the two models, apart from the above mentioned features, will be the choice of colours. While Metallic Triton Blue is common to both, the GSX-R1000 is available in Metallic Matte Black, while the ‘R’ gets Glass Sparkle Black.

MD, Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt. Ltd., Mr. Satoshi Uchida, said, “After 3 decades and more than 1 million GSX-Rs sold worldwide, Suzuki is proud to launch the 6th Generation GSX-R1000 for its enthusiastic customers in India.
