With the preference for gearless scooters on the rise, Suzuki Motorcycle India has expanded its scooter portfolio with the launch of the all-new Avensis. Targeted at Gen Z customers, the Avenis is a 125cc scooter featuring a sporty design that is sharp and edgy along with the latest tech from Suzuki. The scooter is priced at Rs 86,700 for the standard variant and Rs 87,000 for the race edition, both priced ex-showroom, Delhi.
Starting with the design, the Avenis has a modern look that feels fresh and in sync with the other sporty scooters in the market. It features a trapezoidal LED headlamp mounted on the front apron and flanked by air intakes. There’s a small fly screen located on the handlebar, sleek body lines that converge towards the rear of the scooter with dual stripe LED tail lamps, asserting the sportiness of the scooter.
Coming to the tech features, the Avenis gets digital instrumentation with Bluetooth connectivity. Once paired to a smartphone, the user will have access to the turn-by-turn navigation updates, call and text message updates. Furthermore, the scooter features a USB charger with small storage space located in the front apron, an external fuel filler cap and a side stand interlock that prevents the engine from cranking when the stand is out.
Powering the new Avenis is the same tried, tested and approved 125cc unit that also does duty on the Access 125 and Burgman Street 125. The 125cc fuel-injected motor is rated to produce 8.5 bhp of max power and 1.01 kgm of peak torque. The scooter tips the scale at 106 kg, which surprisingly is 2 kg more than the maxi-scooter-styled Burgman Street.
Suzuki is offering the Avenis with the choice of four standard colour options grey, orange, white and white. The race edition comes with a blue colour shade and Suzuki MotoGP Racing Team decals. On the competition front, the Suzuki Avenis locks horns with the TVS NTorq 125, Honda Grazia, Hero Maestro Edge 125 and the recently updated Aprilia SR 125.
