Ola Electric has launched the new Roadster series in India, available in three variants — Roadster X, Roadster and Roadster Pro, with prices starting at Rs 74,999, all the way up to Rs 2.50 lakh (ex-showroom). Based on the concept that was showcased by Ola last year, all three models are built around a double cradle frame and have a simple and futuristic design. From what we noticed, they all get LED headlights, alloy wheels and digital instrument clusters.
With three battery options for the base Roadster X, 2.5 kWh, 3.5 kWh and 4.5 kWh, and a range of up to 200 km on the 4.5 kWh variant. The e-motorcycle gets a 14.7 bhp electric motor that, as claimed by the manufacturer, enables the bike to accelerate from zero to 40 kph in 2.8 seconds and has a top speed of 124 kph. It will feature disc brakes with a Combi Braking System, a 4.3-inch LCD screen (powered by the latest MoveOS 5), and three riding modes, namely Sport, Normal, and Eco. Deliveries of this variant are expected to begin in the first half of 2025.
The mid-range Roadster comes with a 3.5 kWh, 4.5 kWh or 6 kWh battery pack and a range of up to 248 km on the 6kWh model. Powered by a 17.4 bhp electric motor, Ola claims a zero to 40 kph time of 2.2 seconds and a top speed of 126 kph. It will be equipped with four riding modes, namely Hyper, Sport, Normal and Eco, and a 6.8-inch TFT touchscreen. The Roadster will also get cruise control, proximity unlock, smartwatch app integration and other AI-powered features. Ola also claims the Roadster will have disc brakes with single-channel ABS as well as cornering ABS. This is scheduled to start delivery soon after the Roadster X.
The Roadster Pro comes with 8 kWh and 16 kWh battery packs, giving it a maximum range of up to 579 km on the latter. The electric motor generates 70 bhp, with a claimed sprint time of zero to 40 kph in 1.2 seconds and a top speed of 194 kph. It also gets a USD front fork, dual disc brakes at the front, a 10-inch touchscreen and ADAS.
