This is a stripped-out version of the Norton V4SV superbike, which was unveiled not so long ago, called the V4 café racer. This is still a prototype, and it gets the unadulterated 185-bhp 1200cc V4 engine as seen on the V4SV. Norton’s shared very few details about the bike, but we reckon it will have the same Brembo brakes and Ohlins suspension, to say the least.
The carbon fibre fuel tank, the polished frame, swingarm and most of the bodywork is also shared with the V4SV. Since this is a cafe racer, the riding position is a bit different as it has a shorter subframe. The ‘bars sit nice and low behind a TFT screen. It’s a properly quirky design and something that doesn’t looks overdone as well.
The newly opened Norton global headquarters in Solihull put in all the effort to design and build this café racer; it’s technically the first machine out of that facility. Whether there will be a production version coming now or late, we are not sure. But, we’re certainly looking forward to what lies ahead for this prototype. In the meantime, we’ll keep gawking at this gem!
