Suzuki’s motorcycle lineup gets a significant update for 2025 with the introduction of the DR-Z4S, which is a dual-sport, and the DR-Z4SM, which is a supermoto. Unveiled at EICMA 2024, both motorcycles feature a newly designed 398cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine which boasts lightweight titanium intake valves, hollow sodium-filled exhaust valves, and new cam profiles.

The updated engine also includes a new cylinder head with twin spark plugs, crankcases, and a slipper clutch with Suzuki’s Clutch Assist System. The motorcycles get a ride-by-wire throttle, a 42 mm throttle body and a 10-hole fuel injector, resulting in improved power delivery, throttle response, and fuel economy. Both models produce 37.4 bhp at 8,000 rpm and 3.76 kgm of torque at 6,500 rpm.

The DR-Z4S and DR-Z4SM are equipped with the Suzuki Drive Mode Selector (SDMS), allowing riders to choose from three riding modes, each delivering the same peak power but with varying levels of throttle response. The G mode offers reduced intervention for off-road riding on gravel. The DR-Z4S is better suited for off-road use, while the DR-Z4SM is tailored more towards flat-dirt surfaces and tarmac.

Both models feature a new twin-spar steel frame, aluminium subframe, and swingarm for agile handling, as well as long-travel KYB suspension. The DR-Z4S has a 21-inch front wheel and an 18-inch rear, while the DR-Z4SM gets 17-inch rims on both ends. New electrical features include LED headlights, indicators, and intuitive handlebar switches.

While Suzuki is currently positioning it for the European market, it would be great if these motorcycles touchdown on Indian shores.
