Aprilia had showcased the updated version of the SR 150 during the 2018 Auto Expo held in February. Following that, the Piaggio-owned company has now launched the facelift version of the scooter along with the new SR 150 Race and a Limited Edition Carbon SR 150.
The Aprilia SR 150 now sports a semi-digital instrument console. While the speedometer remains analogue, an orange-backlit digital display houses the rest of the information like the fuel gauge, clock, twin trip meters and odometer. A low-fuel warning lamp has been added to the cluster, too.
Apart from that, all SR 150s will be offered with an optional USB port and Bluetooth connectivity. The latter provides owners access to features like navigation, vehicle tracking and distress button function via a dedicated ‘Aprilia Connect’ app which is available for both iOS and Android platforms.
Additionally, Aprilia has also updated the rear suspension for the SR 150 with adjustable preload for the rear springs which should ease the stiff ride the original was rather infamous for. Except for the updates for the rear suspension, the SR 150 remains mechanically unchanged. The company has also introduced four new colour options: matte black, blue, red and white.
Aprilia also launched the new SR 150 Race featuring company’s flagship superbike RS-GP livery designed for MotoGP. It gets a tall windscreen and a retuned CVT. Also launched is a limited edition Carbon SR 150 which is essentially a blacked out version of the standard SR 150. It gets an all-black theme with carbon graphics. Both the SR 150 Race and Carbon SR 150 get Bluetooth connectivity and USB port as standard.
Prices for the new SR150 and its variants are as follows:
Aprilia SR 150 facelift: Rs 70,000
Carbon SR 150: Rs 73,500
SR 150 Race: Rs 80,200
All prices ex-showroom, Pune
