The electric maxi-scooter space is heating up — and not just in Europe. With BMW’s radical CE 04 at the top and Ather’s upcoming Tesseract promising premium thrills at a more approachable level, there’s a growing gap in the middle. And Spain’s Nerva might just have the perfect plug to fill it: the all-new EXE II.
This is no regular city runabout. The Nerva EXE II is powered by a liquid-cooled central motor that puts out 11 kW nominal and peaks at 19 kW (roughly 26 hp). It claims a top speed of 130 kph — comfortably cruising territory for most urban expressways and short highway runs. The battery pack is a 7.83-kWh BYD Blade unit, known for its long lifecycle and thermal stability.
Depending on the mode — Eco, Normal or Sport — the EXE II promises between 90 to 180 km of range. A 3.3 kW onboard charger means it’ll go from 0 to 80 per cent in just two hours using a Type-2 connector.
Tech-wise, it’s well-specced: an 8.8-inch OLED dash, keyless start, remote diagnostics, traction control, ABS, regen braking, and underseat storage big enough for two helmets. There’s also USB charging, Bluetooth connectivity, and the sort of wind protection you’d expect from a proper maxi-scooter.
In the Indian context, the EXE II could be the ideal middleweight electric tourer. If the CE 04 feels too futuristic (or too expensive) and the Tesseract leans more towards performance, the EXE II plays the long-game with its comfort, range, and proven battery tech. If it all it graces our shores, expect it to be priced around ₹6–7 lakh if brought here via CKD, it could be more accessible than the BMW, yet more mature than most homegrown rivals.
There’s no official word on an India entry just yet, but with the premium EV space finally gaining momentum, Nerva might find more than a few takers here. And in a segment craving substance with style, the EXE II could quietly steal the spotlight.
