Italjet, the Italian brand known for making outrageous, sporty scooters has announced its latest creation: the Dragster 700 Twin. However, the company is adamant that this is not a scooter, and of course, with the specs that were revealed, helps clear the air around its flagship product.

A 692cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine with a 6-speed transmission and a power output of almost 68 bhp and a top speed of 190 kph… should be pretty good for a mid-displacement naked, right? However, the aforementioned specs are of the Italjet Dragster 700 Twin. This powerplant has been borrowed from Benelli.

Backing this performance is hardware sourced from the creme de la creme of the industry. While Brembo takes care of the braking department, the suspension duties are handled by Marzocchi USD forks and an Ohlins monoshock, steering damper, Ducabike CNC clutch cover and an Akrapovic exhaust system.

Just like the other Dragster models, looking at the 700 Twin will give you the chills, but this one is even more extreme than the rest of the lineup. The sinister-looking front with the gnarly winglets, the lack of body panels, exposed 16-litre fuel tank and the underseat twin exhausts is too extreme for Italjet, too. The 700 Twin looks like a lovechild of the Ducati Panigale and a Yamaha T-Max.

The Italian company will be making only 500 examples of the Limited Edition version and demands an equivalent of Rs 13.56 lakh. That’s almost as much as the Aprilia RS 660, but nothing compares to the exclusivity of possibly the world’s fastest production scooter. Does it?
