It’s half past 2017, and if you look at the latest motorcycle fashion report, it’s all about Bobbers now. Indian has also launched its Scout-based Bobber, to keep up with the industry trend. And needless to say, it looks good.
While prices are to be announced soon, the Scout Bobber comes with all-black styling (headlight casing, engine covers, exhaust shields, instrument panel, exhaust, wheels, etc.), two-tone leather bobber seat, knobbly tyres, chopped fenders, and a ‘slammed’ stance. The riding position is also made more aggressive with the handlebar and foot pegs moved closer by 38 mm.
The specifications on the model to be sold here are unlikely to vary by a huge amount, in comparison to the US-spec motorcycle: 100 bhp and 9.97 kgm (at 6,000 rpm) from the liquid cooled V-Twin engine mated to a six-speed gearbox. It measures 2,229 mm in length, has a 1,562 mm-long wheelbase, a ground clearance of 123 mm, and a seat height of 649 mm. With a full tank (12.5 litres) of fuel, the Indian Scout Bobber weighs 251 kilos.
To be available in five colours — Thunder Black, Star Silver Smoke, Bronze Smoke, Indian Motorcycle Red, and Thunder Black Smoke — the Bobber will have a full range of accessories, too.
Polaris India’s Country Head and MD, Pankaj Dubey said, “The launch of the Scout® Bobber in India will take the biking experience to new peaks and command respect for Indian Motorcycle® on the streets. It has a raw and mechanical look which will stand out from the crowd. The minimalistic styling that the Bobber has to offer, along with the low-rise profile will give the rider a more aggressive riding position to take control over the urban roads with ease. It may be stripped down, but at the same time it delivers a ton of power and attitude.”
