Hero has introduced the 2024 Hero Xtreme 160R 2V in India, priced at Rs 1.11 lakh (ex-showroom).
The Xtreme 160R 2V features a 163.2cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that delivers 14.79bhp and 1.43 kgm of torque, paired with a five-speed gearbox.
Hero has equipped this engine with its XSens technology, which provides a start/stop function.
The bike uses a 7-step preload-adjustable rear mono-shock and 37mm telescopic forks for suspension. Braking relies on a front 276mm disc brake and a rear drum brake, complemented by single-channel ABS. The bike has a total kerb weight of 139.5 kg.
The bike also offers a digital instrument console, Bluetooth connectivity, a USB charging port, and LED headlights with position lamps.
The 2024 Xtreme 160R 2V design has minor updates, such as a new H-shaped LED taillight and a flatter single-piece seat. It is available in a single Stealth Black variant, accented by red highlights on the wheel rims, underbelly guard, and headlamp bezels.
Priced at Rs 1.11 lakh, the Xtreme 160R 2V is Rs 28,000 less than the 4V model (Rs 1.39 lakh). It goes up against competitors like the Yamaha FZ range (Rs 1.17 lakh to 1.30 lakh) and the Bajaj Pulsar N150 (Rs 1.25 lakh), with all ex-showroom prices.
Will the Hero Xtreme 160R 2V find its place as a strong contender in the market or encounter some challenges along the way?
