Gravton Motors, a Telangana based startup, has launched its first electric scooter, the Quanta, at an introductory price of Rs 99,000, ex-showroom. For now, only the folks at Hyderabad get a taste of this electric scooter. However, Gravton will later launch the Quanta in different cities as well.

Powering the electric scooter is a BLDC motor that produces 3 kW (4 bhp) in continuous state and 3.6 kW (4.8 bhp) at peak. This gives the Gravton a range of 100 km. It also has a 3-kWh removable Lithium-ion battery. And with 100-kph top speed, the Quanta’s performance is quite similar to that of a 100cc motorcycle. Braking is taken care of by disc brakes at the front and rear fitted to 17-inch wheels. While its rib cage frame is paired to a telescopic fork and twin shock absorbers.

Furthermore, the Quanta gets a few noteworthy features like a fully digital display, LED lights, and connected features. You can operate these connected features with the help of its mobile application. Gravton claims that it can manufacture 2,000 units per month from its production factory. In addition to this, it hopes to sell around 5,000 units in 2021 and 18,000 the next year.
