All the rumours and speculations surrounding the bigger XPulse have been laid to rest with the debut of the XPulse 210 at EICMA 2024.

As the name suggests, this XPulse gets a 210cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder motor that pumps out 24.2 bhp and 2.1 kgm. Though the engine is shared with the Karizma XMR, the power has gone down by almost 1 bhp and the torque has increased by 0.2 kgm. While Hero hasn’t mentioned it yet, it should get the same 6-speed gearbox as the Karizma.

Even though the styling is unmistakably like an XPulse, the new bike gets big tank shrouds to protect and conceal the radiator. Furthermore, everything from the front fender to the fuel tank and even the side panels is completely different compared to the XPulse 200. Even the exhaust is more compact and well-integrated into the bodywork.

The Hero XPulse 210 continues to use a 21/18-inch wire-spoke rim setup and long-travel suspension with 210-mm travel in the front and 205 mm at the rear. To drop the anchor, Hero MotoCorp has deployed disc brakes at both ends backed by the safety net of ABS with the provision to switch it off. The settings are accessible via a 4.3-inch TFT console unit.

We expect more details about the new ADV in the coming months, and a chance to ride it soon. Considering that the XPulse retails at Rs 1.47 lakh for the standard variant and Rs 1.54 lakh for the Pro variant (both ex-showroom Delhi), the XPulse 210 should cost Rs 1.65 lakh, at least as an introductory price. Now, does this mean the newly arrived Kawasaki KLX 230 is in trouble already? We’ll know soon.
