BMW Motorrad has unveiled the 2023 iteration of the R 1250 RS sports tourer aimed at the international markets. The updated R 1250 RS gets new standard features and optional extras to enhance its sports-touring capabilities.
The R 1250 RS sports tourer comprises a sleek twin-pod headlight, full-fairing, and adjustable windscreen. It also gets a split-style seat, side-slung exhaust, and 17-inch alloy wheels on both ends. It gets features like full-LED lighting, a colour TFT display with a ‘Sport’ core screen, a USB socket, and also an Intelligent Emergency Call as standard.
The R 1250 RS is powered by a Euro5-compliant, 1254cc, twin-cylinder boxer engine generating 136 bhp and 14.5 kgm of peak torque. This motor features BMW ShiftCam technology for varying valve timing and valve lift on the intake side. The featured gearbox is a 6-speed unit that comes with an anti-hopping clutch. The rear wheel is powered via a shaft drive. There are three riding modes on offer, Rain, Eco and Road.
The electronic rider aids comprise Dynamic Traction Control (DTC) and a new ‘ECO’ driving mode as standard. BMW Integral ABS Pro and Dynamic Brake Control (DBC) are also part of the standard feature list. Meanwhile, Riding Modes Pro with riding mode preselection, engine drag torque control (MSR), heated seats for rider and pillion, and tube handlebars are available as optional equipment. The motorcycle will be available in international markets, although BMW Motorrad has not yet confirmed an India launch.
