BMW Motorrad has launched its flagship superbike, the M 1000 RR in India in two variants, Standard and Competition, priced at Rs 49 lakh and Rs 55 lakh (ex-showroom), respectively. The M 1000 RR is the most track-focused version of the S 1000 RR. It is also the first production superbike to sport the ‘M’ badge.
The M 1000 RR is powered by a 999cc, inline 4-cylinder engine that generates 209 bhp and 11.5 kgm of peak torque. It enables the superbike to hit 0-100 kph in 3.1 seconds and a top speed of 314 kph.
