Benelli has updated the Leoncino 500 with a BS6-compliant engine and has slashed its price by Rs 20,000. This is just an introductory offer, however. It is still the same motorcycle mechanically as well as cosmetically. There is absolutely no change in its power and torque figures.
Powering the Leoncino 500 is a 500cc, liquid-cooled parallel-twin DOHC engine, which is now BS6-compliant and produces 46.85 bhp@8000 rpm and 4.69 kgm of torque at 6000 rpm. It comes mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox. Up front, it is equipped with a 50 mm USD fork with a preload and rebound adjustable rear monoshock. Stopping power comes in the form of 320 mm discs up front and a 260 mm disc at the rear.
Benelli has not given any update to its bike in terms of features for this iteration. For now, it is only available in two colours: Steel Grey and Leoncino Red. As far as prices are concerned, the one in Steel Grey is priced at Rs 4.6 lakh, ex-showroom, India, and Rs 4.7 lakh, ex-showroom, India, for the Leoncino Red. Some time ago, we rode its BS4 variant, you can check out its review here.
