Ather Energy Limited has announced updates to its 2025 Ather 450 range, aiming to enhance safety, efficiency, and the overall ownership experience. The 450X and 450 Apex models now come equipped with features such as multi-mode traction control and MagicTwist throttle

The multi-mode traction control system offers three settings  — Rain, Road, and Rally. Each mode offers a certain level of rear wheel slip, with the Rain mode being the most intrusive and Rally being the least nosy.

The MagicTwist throttle will help simplify riding by letting riders handle both acceleration and deceleration with the twist of throttle. It’s designed to make city riding more seamless and efficient with the reverse throttle input activating regen braking. Previously available on the Rizta, it is now also featured on the 450X.

The 2025 Ather 450 lineup features improvements aiming to optimise energy usage, resulting in an extended riding range. It includes upgraded MRF Zapper N tyres and improved software integration with AtherStack 6 offering features like Google Maps navigation, dashboard notifications, live location sharing, and vehicle locator functions.

The 2025 lineup will also offer extended warranty coverage through the Ather Eight70 Warranty programme, which will cover up to eight years or 80,000 kms of protection along with 70 per cent  battery health assurance. Some models  will feature additional accessories, such as a faster charging option and a smart helmet, to improve rider convenience.

The 2025 Ather 450 lineup is available in several variants, with the Ather 450S starting at ₹1.30 lakh , the Ather 450X with a 2.9 kWh battery priced at ₹1.47 lakh, and the Ather 450X with a 3.7 kWh battery priced at ₹1.57 lakh. The top of the line Ather 450 Apex is priced at ₹2 lakh ( all prices ex-showroom).

The Ather 450 series will compete with the likes of the Bajaj Chetak and TVS iQube, offering a range of technology-driven features. In addition to these updates, the Ather 450 will now be available in two new colour options—Stealth Blue and Hyper Sand. The Apex variant will also come bundled with a Halo and the Multi-Mode Traction Control, further enhancing its appeal. But will it be enough to convince the increasing number of EV buyers?
