With the influx of electric scooters in our market, there seems a challenge for existing non-electric scooter manufacturers. Now, we’re quite familiar with Aprilia’s SR range of scooters. This time, both the SR 125 and the SR 160 have received a minor update in the form of a cosmetic and tech update.

Aprilia SR 160

Both the scooters thankfully get a fresh face featuring a sharper design, housing a new, V-shaped LED headlight. Even the grab rails and the apron get a new design. At the rear, there’s a new LED tail light as well. Oh, there’s also the addition of knuckle guards and a split seat.

On the technology side of things, the instrument cluster is now fully digital which reads out information like the trip and fuel consumption data along with the speedometer and tachometer. However, there’s no Bluetooth connectivity on offer yet. The mechanical bits on both the scooters are identical to their outgoing counterparts.

Aprilia SR 125

The SR 125 is available in only one variant, whereas the SR 160 is available in Standard, Carbon and Race variants. As for the price, the SR 125 will set you back by Rs 1.08 lakh (ex-showroom, Pune), while the SR 160 range starts from Rs 1.17 lakh for the Standard variant and go all the way up to Rs 1.27 lakh (both ex-showroom, Pune) for the Race variant. Both the scooters are around Rs 10,000-13,000 more expensive than before depending on which variant you choose. The SR 160 directly competes against the Yamaha Aerox 155. We’d love to pitch them against each other and see which one is worth your money.
