Aprilia India has revised the warranty package for the RS 457 and Tuono 457 motorcycles, offering a complimentary one-year extension on the original warranty. Initially offered with a 3-year or 36,000-kilometre warranty (whichever came first), the RS 457 will now be covered for 4 years or up to 48,000 kilometres.

The extended warranty will provide complete coverage for manufacturing or assembly defects, including the replacement of faulty components with genuine parts and labour costs. Earlier limited to the first owner, this extended warranty is now transferable, benefiting second or even third owners.

This warranty extension has been introduced after a barrage of engine-related issues reported by owners of the RS 457. Earlier, Aprilia India released an official statement stating the problems due to ‘un unauthorised aftermarket modifications and irregular service schedules.’

The Aprilia RS 457 is priced at Rs 4.20 lakh, while the Tuono 457 is priced at Rs 3.95 lakh (ex-showroom, India). Both motorcycles are powered by a 457cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine, which produces 47 bhp and 4.89 kgm of torque. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox.
