KTM’s 390 Adventure lineup for 2025 is here, and it’s ready to conquer both the streets and the trails. With major updates and three distinct models — the 390 Adventure X, the 390 Adventure S, and the 390 Adventure R — the Austrian manufacturer has crafted a versatile pair of lightweight adventure bikes that appeal to both newcomers and seasoned riders alike.

Visually, the 2025 models have undergone a striking redesign, with a front end that pays homage to KTM’s Dakar Rally racers. The beak-style fender and the vertically orientated face of the bike give it a more aggressive, off-road-ready stance, while the bodywork flows upward, creating a distinct, high-tech look. The Adventure R, in particular, looks like it could tackle any terrain, with its larger 21/18-inch wire-spoke wheels, while the Adventure X keeps things more accessible, with 19/17-inch cast wheels and road-focused tyres. The Adventure S was seen with 21/17-inch wire-spoke wheels that were wrapped with Apollo Tramplr tyres at IBW.

When it comes to performance, the new models are powered by the 399cc LC4c liquid-cooled engine. It delivers a respectable 45.3 bhp at 8,500 rpm and 3.97 kgm of torque at 7,000 rpm — plenty of punch for both on-road cruising and off-road adventures. KTM has updated the gearbox for easier shifting, particularly between the fifth and sixth gears to make your ride even smoother. A new power-assist slipper clutch further refines the experience, and for the first time in the 390 range, a bidirectional quickshifter is available.

The 390 Adventure R takes it further with a more capable suspension system, boasting 9.1 inches of travel and adjustable WP APEX front and rear shocks. This gives the R model the edge when the going gets tough. On the other hand, the Adventure X offers a more approachable 7.9 inches of travel with non-adjustable suspension — perfect for riders seeking a balance between road comfort and off-road capability. The exact specifications for the S variant are still not officially confirmed.

All models come equipped with Bybre brakes, ensuring ample stopping power. The Adventure R, however, gets lean-sensitive ABS and cornering traction control, thanks to its advanced inertial measurement unit (IMU). With ride modes ranging from street and off-road to rain and a TFT screen, the 2025 KTM 390 Adventure models bring an all-new level of technology and versatility to the segment. Whether you’re just getting started in adventure riding or looking to push your limits, the 390 Adventure lineup promises thrilling experiences at every turn. Expect these bikes to hit dealerships pretty soon.
