Kawasaki has launched its 2025 Ninja ZX-4R in India at Rs. 8.79 lakh (ex-showroom), with a Rs. 30,000 price increase over the previous model, though the bike remains unchanged.

The Ninja ZX-4R is powered by a 399cc inline-four engine delivering 75.9 bhp at 14,500 rpm and 3.97 kgm at 13,000 rpm paired to a 6-speed gearbox with a slip-and-assist clutch. The ZX-4R also includes multiple ride modes — Sport, Road, and Rain — allowing riders to adjust the throttle response and traction control to suit riding conditions.

This Supersport continues to use a steel-trellis frame that uses a Showa 37-mm USD with preload adjustability and a link-type monoshock which also remains identical to the 2024 model.

The bike’s braking duties are handled by dual 290-mm petal discs with radially mounted callipers up front and a 220-mm disc at the rear, attached to 17-inch lightweight alloy wheels. The bike also features traction control, along with dual-channel ABS.

The bike gets full LED lighting, including headlamps, tail lamps, and indicators. A 4.3-inch TFT display with smartphone connectivity through Kawasaki’s Rideology app, allows riders to access navigation, ride logs, and incoming calls on-the-go.

With a price tag of Rs. 8.79 lakh, the ZX-4R is India’s most expensive 400cc motorcycle, with no direct competition in its price bracket. On the other hand, the KTM RC 390, priced at Rs. 3.19 lakh, caters to riders looking for a track-ready performance. With a single-cylinder engine producing 42.9 bhp and 3.8 kgm. But then again, who wouldn’t prefer the sweet symphony of an inline-four over a raspy single-cylinder, right?
