BMW Motorrad has updated its flagship superbike and hyper-naked range, including the M 1000 RR, S 1000 RR, M 1000 R, and S 1000 R, featuring both visual and technical enhancements. All models now comply with Euro 5+ regulations and include a new M short-stroke throttle for improved responsiveness.
The M 1000 RR’s 999cc inline-four engine has been significantly revised, boosting power to 215 bhp — up 6 bhp from its predecessor. Key upgrades include a redesigned cylinder head, titanium valves, and an optimized titanium exhaust system. Aerodynamics have also been improved with a new front fairing and wider M Winglets 3.0, which enhance downforce. Advanced control systems have been introduced, such as a new Slide Control function and Brake Slide Assist, enhancing traction and stability. The M 1000 RR is available in a base model and an M Competition variant, featuring additional performance enhancements.
The S 1000 RR has been optimized for track performance, also benefiting from the M short-stroke throttle, new winglets, and integrated brake ducts. It now includes standard Pro riding modes and a Dynamic Brake Control feature. Power output remains at 206 bhp with an updated aesthetic design.
The M 1000 R hyper naked has received a fresh design with a dual-flow headlight and updated DTC from the RR models, retaining the same power output as the S 1000 RR. The S 1000 R has seen an increase in power to 168 bhp, shorter gearing, and new standard features, including engine drag torque control with a configurable ‘Engine Brake’ and a USB-C port. Pricing for these updated models has yet to be announced, but an increase over previous models is anticipated due to the new features and enhancements.
