Bajaj Auto has rejigged the Avenger line up by launching the new Avenger Street 180 and thus replacing the older Street 150. The Bajaj Avenger range now includes the 220 Cruise, 220 Street, and this. The former two were introduced last month with 2018 updates like the new headlamp, visor, and LED DRLs. Needless to say, the 180-cc-engined motorcycle also gets all that now.
The DTS-i engine in the Avenger 180 makes 15.28 bhp@8500 rpm and 1.39 kgm@6500 rpm. The suspension on the motorcycle now has a longer travel (by 12 per cent), while the alloy wheels and engine are finished in black. The grab handle is rubberised, the body gets new colours (Ebony Black and Spicy Red), and the graphics are new while the badge is now bigger.
The motorcycle comes with a 13-litre fuel tank, 17-inch tyre up front and a 15-inch, 130-section one at the rear. It also gets a disc brake setup, but only at the front (260 mm disc); the rear continues to be a 130-mm drum.
Bajaj Auto’s President (Motorcycle business), Eric Vaz said, “As the segment leader, Bajaj Auto believes in evolving and pushing the envelope. Avenger Street 180 provides contemporary styling with enhanced power whilst retaining its classical roadster design. The discerning customer gets a definite step-up into the world of classic biking.”
