Honda has unveiled the all-new 2027 Africa Twin range at EICMA 2026 in Milan, introducing a larger engine, revised chassis and a new Enduro Sports variant. The updated range comprises the standard Africa Twin, Africa Twin Adventure Sports and the newly introduced Africa Twin Enduro Sports.

The new models retain the Africa Twin’s familiar bold adventure-bike proportions, but get a sharper, more compact front-end design. The signature Twin Eyes dual LED headlamps have been redesigned with a narrower appearance and now incorporate cornering lights and daytime running lights. The cockpit is also entirely new, featuring a 7-inch colour TFT touchscreen paired with a separate 5.7-inch display for essential riding information. The main screen supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with dedicated off-road displays and a compass. A lockable smartphone storage compartment with USB-C charging has also been added. Honda has also introduced an electrically adjustable windscreen with 130mm of adjustment, making it easier to tailor wind protection while riding. The overall design combines a rugged stance with sharper detailing, while visually emphasising the motorcycle’s low centre of gravity.

The new models are powered by a liquid-cooled, 1,131cc parallel-twin engine, up from 1,084cc on the outgoing generation. It produces 119bhp at 7,500rpm and 119Nm of torque at 5,700rpm. Honda has also revised the intake and exhaust systems, compression ratio and gearbox ratios to improve performance.

The Africa Twin range gets a redesigned frame and swingarm, which are 1.4kg lighter than before. A revised fuel tank layout, with a section positioned beneath the seat, lowers the centre of gravity to improve low-speed handling and manoeuvrability.

The standard Africa Twin and Adventure Sports receive Showa electronically controlled suspension with Honda Skyhook technology. The Adventure Sports continues with a 24-litre fuel tank and a 19-inch front wheel, while the standard model retains its focus on a balance of road and off-road performance.

The new Africa Twin Enduro Sports is aimed at riders seeking greater off-road capability. It features front suspension with specifications equivalent to the CRF450 Rally and styling inspired by Honda’s Dakar Rally machine.

Another significant development is the introduction of Honda Sensing Ride, an advanced rider-assistance system that will be available as an option on the Africa Twin Adventure Sports DCT. Using front and rear millimetre-wave radar units, the system offers features including adaptive cruise control, stop-and-go assistance, group ride assist, blind-spot information, forward collision warning and emergency brake assistance.

The new Africa Twin is likely to arrive next year to our shores. However, it would be interesting to see if Big Wing gets all three versions or sticks to the Adventure Sports variant.
