Volvo has launched the EX90 at an introductory price of Rs 1.26 crore (ex-showroom). Compared to its ICE alternative, the XC90, the EX90 is Rs 28 lakh more expensive. This makes it a very good deal because it not only offers all-electric mobility, but also increases the luxury quotient by a big margin. The introductory price is available till the end of the year. While bookings have begun today, deliveries will only begin in January 2027, and the EX90 will be assembled in India.

On the outside, the EX90 looks similar to the XC90, which is a given, but it comes with key differences, like a closed-off grille and LED DRLs that open up to reveal the LED headlamps. It also has new alloy wheel designs for the 21-inch wheels, and a different taillight design.

Inside, the EX90 offers a minimalistic design that we’ve seen in many modern Volvos. It comes with a large 14.5-inch infotainment touchscreen with a built-in Google OS. This layout is similar to what we’ve seen in the EX30, but what’s different in the EX90 is the addition of the 9-inch driver’s display, which brings all the important information right in front of the driver. Unlike the XC90, the EX90 is offered solely with a six-seater layout, with captain’s seats for the second row. It also comes with a 25-speaker audio system from Bowers & Wilkins, with Dolby Atmos and Abbey Road support. The EX90 gets a panoramic glass roof but no curtain, as the glass itself can change its opacity depending on the requirement.

Powering the EX90 is a 106 kWh battery pack, which has a claimed range of 725 km on the ICAT cycle and 625 km on the WLTP cycle. It comes with a dual-motor setup that produces 450 bhp and 670 Nm, helping it propel from 0-100 kph in 5.5 seconds (claimed). The EX90 rivals the likes of the Mercedes-Benz EQS, BMW iX, Kia EV9 and the upcoming Range Rover Sport electric. You can read more about the Volvo EX90 in our review.
