Hyundai has launched new uber-luxurious versions of three of its SUVs — the Creta, Creta Electric and Alcazar. The new edition, called the Lounge Edition, gets a rear seat entertainment package with an 11.6-inch touchscreen meant for streaming content on the go. Prices start at Rs 19.22 lakh, Rs 21.81 lakh, and Rs 24.34 lakh (ex-showroom) for the Creta, Alcazar and Creta Electric, respectively.
The highlights of the Lounge Edition, apart from the rear screens, include a new Golden Bronze colour with blacked-out accents (skid plate, spoiler, roof rails, ORVMs, and alloy wheels). Inside, they also get special white ambient lighting as well as a special design on the seat backs with silver accents and Lounge branding.
The 11.6-inch screen will allow users to stream OTT content, play games, and mirror their phone, and the screen is paired with the Bose audio system in the car. In the Creta Electric, the Lounge Edition also gets a wireless charger at the back and a dashcam as standard.
While the Creta Lounge Edition is available with the NA petrol and diesel engine options on the King trims, the Alcazar Lounge Edition is only available with the diesel powertrain on the Signature trim. The Creta Electric’s special edition is based on the Excellence trim with the larger 51.4 kWh battery pack and the home charger option. Suffice to say, all three Lounge Editions will be loaded to the brim with features.
Interestingly, the Alcazar Lounge Edition is only available with a 5-seat configuration, as Hyundai has done away with the third row of seats. This is probably done to remove any sort of discrimination against the third-row passengers not getting a dedicated screen. However, this will make the Alcazar a great long-distance tourer, as it can carry five passengers and their week’s worth of luggage easily, while also being punchy and frugal on the highway.
