Jeep has launched the Grand Cherokee Signature Edition in India, priced at Rs 69.04 lakh (ex-showroom, India). Carrying a premium of Rs 1.54 lakh over the Limited (O) variant, it adds a host of cosmetic enhancements and features aimed at making the luxury SUV feel even more upmarket.

The Signature Edition comes with features such as a motorised side step which rolls out as you unlock the car or open the doors. Moreover, passengers in the second row now have two 11.6-inch Android-based infotainment screens, which offer built-in speakers and support for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and AUX connectivity. Jeep is also now offering integrated dash cameras for the front and rear.

As for the powertrain, the Signature Edition retains the same mechanical setup as the standard Grand Cherokee. It is powered by a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder, turbo-petrol engine that produces 268 bhp and 40.78 kgm of torque. The engine is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission and Jeep’s four-wheel drive system.

While Jeep India has confirmed that it will be a limited-run model, the brand hasn’t revealed the exact number of units that will be produced. The Grand Cherokee Signature Edition will be available at Jeep dealerships nationwide starting June 13. As for the competition, The Jeep Grand Cherokee competes against other large luxury SUVs like the Volvo XC90 (Rs 1.04 crore), Range Rover Velar (Rs 87.90 lakh), Mercedes-Benz GLE (Rs 1.02 crore-1.11 crore), Audi Q7 (Rs 90.48 lakh-99.81 lakh) and BMW X5 (Rs 97.80-1.13 crore).
