CFMoto has taken the covers off its latest ADV at EICMA, the 800MT-X, a new addition to its growing lineup of adventure motorcycles. We all know the connection between KTM and CFMoto, and from what we can tell, the 800MT-X has plenty of KTM DNA. The new model builds on the success of CFMoto’s 800MT range, but with key updates that elevate its appeal in the competitive adventure-touring market.

At the heart of the 800MT-X is a 799cc parallel-twin engine (KTM’s LC8c parallel twin), delivering a claimed 88.7 bhp and 8.76 kgm of torque. The engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox and a refined electronic throttle system, ensuring smooth power delivery and precision control.

The 800MT-X gets a frame that is nearly identical to its KTM equivalent, and even borrows the unusual low-slung fuel tanks, one on each side of the bike, which have been a hallmark of the parallel-twin KTM Adventure models. It is also equipped with a fully adjustable suspension system, including a KYB USD front fork and a rear shock which offers 190mm of travel. The bike’s long-travel suspension is combined with a 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wheel setup.

The 800MT-X further comes equipped with modern electronics, including a full-colour TFT display, multiple riding modes, and advanced traction control systems. The design looks both aggressive and functional, with a robust body, protective crash bars, and LED lighting for improved visibility. While we may not see it in India anytime soon, it is an interesting motorcycle that would appeal to a lot of riders, especially the off-road-oriented kind.
