Volkswagen India has brought updates to its Virtus GT Line, Virtus GT Plus Sport, and Taigun GT Line models. Although these updates are mostly minor for what is already a well-rounded offering, will they make the cars more attractive? Here is what we know.

Before we get to the differences, it’s important to note that this is primarily an aesthetic upgrade. Both car variants are powered by the same two engines.

The first is a 1.0-litre TSI engine, producing 113 bhp and 18.2 kgm of torque. This engine is available with both a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic transmission. The other is the 1.5-litre TSI EVO engine, delivering 148 bhp and 25.5 kgm of torque. This engine is also paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DSG automatic transmission.

Volkswagen Virtus GT Line

The Virtus GT Line now features black treatments, evident from its blacked-out LED headlamps, which also come with a DRL. Moving down to the 40.6 cm black alloy wheels, these match with the black ORVMs, front grille, and dark chrome door handle garnish. Black design strips on both the front and rear bumper, along with a glossy black boot spoiler, tie together a ‘dipped in black’ design.

Inside, the Virtus GT Line offers a surprise, surprise! A black interior complemented by red ambient lighting. It features a little more than before, but nothing more. The seats are upholstered with a mix of leather and fabric, showcasing grey stitching. The aluminium pedals and Smart Touch Climatronic air conditioning unit continue the black theme.

The car remains largely the same otherwise!

Volkswagen Virtus GT Plus Sport

The Virtus GT Plus Sport takes an additional step with a distinctive red GT Fender badge and a front ‘GT’ logo. It also includes an aero kit that features bumpers, a side running board, and a rear diffuser. Dual-tone paintwork with a blacked-out roof, black alloy wheels, and a glossy black spoiler, along with red brake callipers, add a touch of flair.

Regarding the interiors, the Virtus does not introduce anything new. It carries over the changes available in the previously mentioned variant, after which it remains just the same.

Volkswagen Taigun GT Line

While the Taigun maintains many of the previous elements, it now features rain-sensing wipers and an auto-dimming rearview mirror.

Model Price (Rs.)

Virtus GT Plus Sport 17,20,000
