Motoring World: Can you share with us a pivotal moment from your early days in Motorsports that shaped your determination and commitment to rally racing?
Harith Noah: In 2009, I participated in my first race on a bike I received for Christmas a few weeks earlier, riding through the paddy fields near my house in Kerala. That day marked the beginning of my passion for off-road biking. From then on, I was determined to improve. I started competing in local races and progressed to the National Supercross Championship in 2011. Initially focused on excelling in supercross racing, my perspective shifted in 2018 when I entered my first international rally race and discovered my true love for rally racing. In 2020, I competed in my first Dakar rally and never looked back—Rally Raid has become my sport of choice.
MW: How do you prepare mentally and physically for the challenges of a race like the Dakar Rally, known for its extreme conditions and endurance requirements?
HN: Preparing for the gruelling challenges of a race like the Dakar Rally, known for its extreme conditions and relentless endurance requirements, demands a comprehensive approach that encompasses both mental and physical fortitude, as well as the ability to read the roadbook. The Dakar Rally is a marathon race that tests a racer’s limits across some of the harshest terrains on the planet. To tackle this formidable race, physically, I engage in a rigorous fitness program that combines cardiovascular training, strength conditioning, and endurance exercises. Simultaneously, I focus on mental fortitude through mindfulness practices and visualization techniques under the guidance of my mental coach. My motto for any rally is to take it one kilometer at a time and to ride in the present moment, as now is all we have.

MW: As a trailblazer in Indian motorsports, what advice would you give to young enthusiasts who aspire to follow you?
HN: I believe a lot is possible when you commit your mind and body to it. Winning the Dakar in Rally 2 before 2024 was something I never thought I could achieve, but now I have. If I can do it, so can anyone else, but it is not easy, and success is never handed to you. You have to work hard, stay consistent, and be patient. MW: How important is teamwork in your career, and how does it contribute to your success on and off the track?
HN: Teamwork is not just significant but fundamental to my success. In racing, it is not solely about the rider but the cohesive effort of the entire team. My team, TVS Racing, has supported me 100% through thick and thin, and I would not be where I am now without their help and support. Engineers, mechanics, and strategists all play critical roles in achieving success. This unified team allows me to focus on riding and perform at my best during races, while also ensuring that all aspects of my career, including race day performance and off-track responsibilities, are handled with precision and efficiency.
MW: The G-SHOCK Mudmaster GG-1000-1A3 is known for its mud resistance and durability. How has this specific model supported you during your racing endeavours?
HN: The G-SHOCK MUDMASTER GG-1000-1A3 has been my go-to watch for the majority of my racing endeavours. MW: What do you think is the future of rally racing in India, and how do you see yourself contributing to its growth?
HN: It is easy to criticize and suggest areas for improvement. However, overall, I believe a lot has changed since I started racing. Back then, I used to be one of the youngest riders at the Supercross races, but now there are many kids accompanied by their parents, some even under 10 years old, participating in races. This is a beautiful thing, and the future does hold a lot of promise. I feel slowly the mindset of people that racing is a sport and not entertainment is changing which is great. However, it will take time to grow, but we are on the right track.
MW: Outside of racing, what are your hobbies and interests? How do you balance your personal life with the demands of a professional racing career?
