Isuzu India, after revealing their new D-Max range at their brand new plant in Sricity few weeks back, has announced the prices of the D-Max V-Cross pickup. Priced at Rs 12.49 lakh (ex-showroom, Chennai), deliveries for the V-Cross will start from July 2016. There is only one variant as of now, which acts as the range topper with climate control, touchscreen central infotainment system, projector headlamps and a beige and grey interior combination. The V-Cross which shares it underpinnings with the Chevrolet Trailblazer (and a large part of the interior design) has a full-time AWD unit which can be switched on the fly between 2WD and 4WD modes via a knob. Up front, there is a 2.5-litre turbodiesel unit rated at 134 bhp and 32.6 kgm powering the V-Cross coupled with a five speed manual transmission. The V-Cross will come with ABS, EBD, dual airbags and brake assist as standard.
A commercial license is not required for the V-Cross, unlike the regular D-Max pickup. Since the V-Cross is positioned as a lifestyle vehicle for the discerning urban buyer, Isuzu has a large number of accessories lined up for the V-Cross, like the hydraulic deck for the loading bay, prices for which are going to be revealed later.
