Volvo Car India has in its latest press announcement mentioned that with 2638 vehicles sold in 2018, it has made a huge 30 per cent leap in terms of calendar-year sales. The new range of Volvo products have been received well by the market, and it clearly shows in sales as well.

The latest of the lot is the small SUV called the XC40. It’s based on the firm’s new CMA platform, and is a direct rival to vehicles like the Mercedes-Benz GLA, BMW X1, and Audi Q3. It’s not only the newest of the lot but also comes packed with tech like wireless phone charging and semi-autonomous driver aids. Even critics have been happy with the car, which is reflected in its latest accolade: Premium Car Award 2019 by ICOTY. Going forwards, the all-new SPA-based S60 saloon will debut in India this year, too.

Volvo Car India’s MD, Charles Frump said, “2018 has been a fantastic year for Volvo Car India as we ended the year with yet another record sales. Volvo is on a roll here and I am very positive about the performance of our brand in this market. I would like to take this opportunity to thank our customers, dealer partners and my entire team that made 2018 a grand success. I am confident that 2019 will be a great year for Volvo Car India when we will turn our focus on company and dealer profitability.”
