The top trim costs about Rs 90k more than Highline, which is not necessarily a bad thing, considering you get full LED headlamps (with DRLs), alloy wheels (Zirkonia in VW marketing speak), 3D-effect taillamps, etc. Auto wipers, auto-dimming in-cabin rear view mirror, multifunction steering wheel, rear-view camera, cooled glove box, etc. are a few of the features on the variant. The engine line-up remains unchanged, so you can opt for the Vento Highline Plus with any of the powerplants: a 1.6-litre naturally aspirated petrol, a 1.5-litre litre, and a 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol. It must be noted that the 1.6 MPI is manual-only and the 1.2 TSI is automatic-only. The diesel, on the other hand, can be specced with either of the two gearbox choices.

Prices for the Highline trim models start at Rs 10.84 lakh for the petrol and goes all the way up to Rs 13.42 lakh for the diesel with DSG. The Vento TSI retails for Rs 12.06 lakh, ex-showroom, Mumbai.

Volkswagen India’s MD Thierry Lespiaucq said, “The Vento has been an integral part of the Volkswagen portfolio in India and we are delighted to launch the Vento Highline Plus that personifies Volkswagen’s characteristic DNA with aesthetic design elements, superior technology and unmatched safety features. It is our constant endeavor to make the Vento a car of choice for young families and working professionals and the highline plus is aimed at that direction, we are positive that customers will find resonance in the car.”
