The Porsche’s giving the new Cayenne its good old Platinum touch. Before this, it was the Panamera Turbo that was produced with the Platinium Edition badge. Porsche’s been doing this for quite some time now, and the Cayenne will be available in both standard and coupe body styles.

There are several changes that set the Cayenne Platinium Edition apart from the standard Cayenne. Firstly, there are special exterior paint options like the one that you see here is finished in Jet Black. Apart from that, there’s Carrara White, Mahogany, Moonlight Blue and Crayon. It even features a blacked-out exhaust and side window trims. Moreover, other design changes include satin-finish platinum which includes the 21-inch alloys, front air intakes, Porsche lettering and model designation.

Then, on the inside, there is textured aluminium with silver-coloured trim. Further, the seatbelts are Crayon-coloured, Porsche logo embossed onto the front and rear headrests, brushed aluminium door sills and a Platinium Edition logo, of course. Extra features like the eight-way electrically adjustable seats, Bose surround-sound system, ambient lighting and the typical Porsche analogue clock on the dash are now standard on it.

The Cayenne Platinum Edition is limited to cosmetic changes. It’s still available in two powertrain options — a 350-bhp 3-litre turbo petrol V6 and a 449-bhp E-Hybrid engine. The latter gets an electric motor and a 17.9-kWh battery paired to the same turbo V6. Adding all the special bits together, the Cayenne Platinum Edition price starts from Rs 1.47 crore (ex-India). Exclusive enough?
