At one of the many celebrations that will commemorate 75 years of Porsche, the first of which is the Festival of Dreams 2023, the brand announced the entry of the most hardcore 718 yet. The Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS will definitely cost you a pretty penny, but what you’ll get is probably the most sublime driving experience. We’ll let you know how it goes, soon.

Meanwhile, both you and I will have to whet our appetites with the pictures and specs. Speaking of, that RS badge (Rennsport in Porsche-speak) gets you the highest output from among its 718 brethren (494 bhp from the 4.0-litre naturally aspirated flat-six that revs up to 9000 rpm), that carbon fibre bonnet and fixed rear wing that has three stages of manual adjustment, adjustable race-spec suspension, blacked-out highlights on the rear and windows, and tonnes of logos, etchings, and strips of metal that have GT4 RS on them.

You also get those drool-worthy 20-inch alloys with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres (245/35 ZR 20 in the front and 295/30 ZR20 at the rear). The interior isn’t subtle either about telling you you’re in the GT4 RS, and that’s not just because of the logos and stitching. There’s a 4.6-inch screen for infotainment duties, a veritable army of overt and subtle hints you’re in a fast vehicle — from the sport bucket seats finished in black leather to the pedals and footrests finished in matte steel and the yellow strip on the black steering.

Unfortunately, the car you see here also has that brilliant Shark Blue colour (a Rs 6.6 lakh option), the Weissach-package (a Rs 32 lakh option), carbon ceramic brakes (Rs 16 lakh), and a number of lighting and logo packages. And that’s why you have to pay Rs 3.23 crore, and that’s ex-showroom, for this specific Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS.
