Narain Karthikeyan, not new to speed and fast cars, has picked up the latest Porsche 911 GT3. It’s not the first Porsche in his garage, but is a fitting inclusion considering his talent. And not to forget he is the first Formula 1 driver from the country.

While Porsche hasn’t made his personal spec public, the car in its base form costs Rs 2.32 crore, ex-showroom. It comes with a 4-litre, naturally aspirated flat six engine which makes 493 bhp and 47 kgm. If he’s specced his with PDK, it will also do 0-100 kph in 3.4 seconds and register a top speed of 318 kph. The rear-wheel drive car gets rear-wheel steer, 245-section tyres at the front and 305s at the rear, and the ability to do 80-120 kph (in fifth gear) in under five seconds.

He took the delivery of the car from Porsche Centre Mumbai, and will drive it in Coimbatore, which is where he lives. The photos suggest that his 911 GT3 is finished in Guards Red paint, has the standard wheels, and with that rather huge wing on, doesn’t come with the latest Touring package.
