With the launch of the Maruti Suzuki XL6 facelift expected by the end of the month, the brand has begun accepting bookings for the heavily updated six-seat MPV. Prospective buyers can, for an amount of Rs 11,000, pre-book the XL6 at Nexa showrooms or by logging-in to the Nexa Experience website.

Maruti Suzuki promises its answer to the Kia Carens has improved significantly in many departments. Besides the design updates — including new alloy wheels — there’ll be a higher output (and more efficient) 1.5-litre petrol engine that’ll come mated to a new six-speed automatic gearbox. The outgoing XL6 was lacking in the powertrain department and it’ll be interesting to see how much has improved.

The new XL6’s features list is also expected to be longer. Maruti’s connected car tech, an upgraded infotainment system, and paddle shifters for the automatic variants are a certainty on the higher variants. It remains to be seen how much of the equipment from the new Baleno, such as the availability of six airbags across most of the range, a heads-up display, and 360-degree cameras, will be on offer.

We’ll be driving the 2022 Maruti Suzuki XL6 before the end of April, but we’ll only be able to tell you all about it in May. Stay tuned.
