Maruti Suzuki, in a bid to help establish a premium avatar of itself, set up its NEXA range of dealerships. But with the only midsize saloon (flagship, too) that the company sells being available only at the regular dealerships, there seemed to be a mis-match. Thankfully, Maruti has settled that, by making the Ciaz (the car in question) a NEXA-exclusive. So from tomorrow (that is April 1 onwards), if you’re looking for a new Ciaz, don’t bother trying at the regular MSIL dealers. Go to NEXA instead.

With more than 1,50,000 units of the Ciaz sold, it’s helped the company have a substantial share of the midsize (upper-C) saloon segment. One must also note that there have been no changes made to the product itself, so if you’re getting a decent discount from your regular Maruti dealer, you can also keep that option open. But officially the Ciaz is to be available from NEXA only, sharing the showroom space with vehicles like the Baleno, the Baleno RS, the Ignis, and the S-Cross.

Also, don’t fret about the sales and service network, because while Maruti is widespread, the NEXA dealership network is growing at a good pace — over 250 outlets at present, according to the company data.

Executive Director (Marketing and Sales) Maruti Suzuki India Limited R S Kalsi said:Today, NEXA has established itself as a successful model with over 200,000 cars being delivered in less than two years of launch. Ciaz at NEXA gives us the confidence to do even better and strengthen the brand Maruti Suzuki.  Through this move, we will be able to offer the Nexa experience to new customers. At the same time, Ciaz will help us achieve our sustained long term goal of 20% sales through NEXA.
