There is no dearth of high performance SUVs in India, and BMW added another one for the count. The new X3 M is the first time the X3 bears an M badge and it packs quite the punch.

Under the hood of the X3 M is a 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged straight-six engine producing 473 bhp and 61.18 kgm of torque. Power is sent to all the four wheels via an 8-speed M Steptronic gearbox. The X3 M is a tad milder than its 503-bhp Competition variant, however, at 4.2 seconds to 100 kph, it’s only a tenth slower. So you’re not really missing much. Since this is an M car, naturally, it gets a meaty M sport steering wheel and beefy M compound brakes.

There are quite a few features which set the X3 M apart from the standard X3. For instance, the bumpers are larger, it gets a blacked-out grille and black inserts on its front bumpers and side vents. In addition to that, it comes with a panoramic sunroof and adaptive LED headlights. It also gets a nice quad exhaust setup and 21-inch alloys which further enhances its overall sportiness. And of course some M badging is present to round out the package.

Inside, the X3 M gets Vernasca leather seats, ambient lighting, M-style cockpit design with an M-specific instrument cluster, head-up display, and a 40:20:40 split-folding rear seats for added luggage capacity. There are plenty of optional features that BMW is offering for you to further spec out your X3 M as well. The BMW X3 M can be yours for Rs 99.9 lakh, ex-showroom.
