Jaguar’s all-electric I-Pace might have received critical acclaim but now with a five-star rating from Euro NCAP, it looks more promising than ever. The vehicle, which is yet to be launched in India, spearheads Jaguar’s future-ready line up of cars.
On the safety front, the Jaguar I-Pace benefits from its lightweight aluminium structure, which when paired to the integral battery pack, offers the highest torsional rigidity in any production Jaguar yet, mentions the company. It scores 91 per cent in Adult Occupant safety, 81 per cent in Child Occupant category, 73 per cent in Pedestrian safety, and 81 per cent in Safety Assist. The latter score is possible due to the presence of AEB and other driver assistance features.
Looking at the results/analysis by Euro NCAP, the Jaguar I-Pace’s cabin remains stable under impact, and on the whole, the vehicle offers good protection. The only areas lacking slightly are the protection for passenger’s right knee and femur, and rear seat whiplash protection, both of which are said to be marginal.
