Yes, this is an electric vehicle. Surprised? The Genesis GV60 is its first electric SUV based on the same E-GMP platform as the beautifully designed Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Kia EV6. Naturally, Hyundai’s luxury brand has one trick up its sleeve, too.

Now, if you’re familiar with Genesis design language, you’d easily tell the GV60 is one. Typical of other Genesis models, the GV60 gets a similar headlight and tail light design. Also, to increase the cooling efficiency of the high-voltage batteries in the underbody, it has positioned the grille below the quad headlights. Another thing that you’d notice is that it gets digital side mirrors and flush door handles. Fancy stuff. At the rear, it’s the fixed-wing spoiler that adds to its sporty SUV-coupe character.

As you step inside, the GV60 tells you that it’s obviously a step above what the Ioniq 5 has to offer, as far as luxury is concerned. It’s got blue leather upholstery and light green stitching on it. Of course, you’ll be able to control the camera angle of the digital side mirrors.

On the mechanical side of things, there aren’t any details yet. But, we do know that the EVs running on the same platform offer similar configurations. The Genesis G60 will also feature more or less a similar range of options. This will be Genesis’ second electric model after the electrified G80, and will most likely go on sale in the US next year.
