More from Motoring

With 27,850 vehicles despatched from its factories in March this year, Ford India has recorded a 11 growth per cent in comparison to the sales from March 2017. The company sold 9,016 cars in the domestic market while 18,564 units were exported. Q1 2018 sales at 74,080 vehicles is also a huge increment over last year’s 63,117.

And the growth is only a taster of the success that’s bound to follow. The company recently signed an MoU with Mahindra to co-develop a mid-sized SUV, and evaluate developing a compact SUV and an EV. The launch timelines aren’t out yet, but you can read more about the MoUs and what the two companies plan to do in our report by clicking here.

Ford is also ready to launch its Figo-based crossover, the Ford Freestyle this month. It will be followed by the refreshed Figo duo, that is the Figo hatchback and the Figo Aspire compact saloon. The EcoSport sub-compact SUV was also updated recently with the inclusion of a Titanium+ trim for the petrol model. You can read about that here.

President and MD, Ford India, Anurag Mehrotra said, “Listening to our customers and bringing what they want and value is core to whatever we do in India and is getting reflected in our continued sales growth. Be it partnership with Mahindra or the upcoming launch of our compact utility vehicle – Ford Freestyle, we are committed to offering the best vehicles, technologies and services that fit the lifestyles of Indian consumers.”

Ford India showcased the Freestyle compact utility vehicle in January this year. Read more about it here.
