Last year, BMW unveiled the Dark Shadow edition for the X7 M50i variant. This time, it’s the M50d’s turn, and it’s finally launched in India. As you’d expect with this variant as well, it is completely blacked out, right from its massive kidney grille to the window garnish. Matte black 22-inch wheels round out the package. The Dark Shadow edition does borrow all the little details from the X7’s M sports package including the exhaust tips and roof rails. It also features the new ‘Frozen Arctic Grey’ metallic paint on it.

Inside, there’s contrast stitching on the seat, Nappa leather on the instrument panel, roof liner finished in Alcantara with a Night Blue colour. And on the centre console lies the ‘Dark Shadow Edition’ logo which again gets the piano black finish.

Powering the M50d is a 3.0-litre six cylinder diesel engine producing 400 bhp and 77.49 kgm of torque. All that power makes for a 0-100 kph sprint time of 5.3 seconds.

Limited to 500 units worldwide, this BMW X7 Dark Shadow edition is the most expensive X7 on sale internationally. BMW hasn’t been specific with the Indian numbers. If you’re just like us, you’d also be wondering how far it will set you back. Well, close to Rs 2.02 crore, ex-showroom, for it. Talk about exclusivity!
