The all-new Audi A8 L has been launched in India at a starting price of Rs 1.29 crore for the Celebration Edition and the top-spec Technology variant will set you back by Rs 1.57 crore (all prices ex-showroom). Only the Technology variant is available in both four- and five-seat configurations.

The A8 L is one properly luxurious sedan that comes kitted with fancy tech and handy equipment. For instance, it gets Audi’s Digital Matrix LED headlights with animations, OLED tail-lights, active air suspension, and a 360-degree camera with park assist.

Inside, you can choose between four interior colours — Mother of Pearl Beige, Cognac Brown, Sard Brown and Black. The A8 L also gets a Bang & Olufsen Advanced Sound System with 3D sound, which comes equipped with 23 speakers, a 23-channel BeoCore amplifier, 3D front and rear surround sound and fancy tech that will automatically extend acoustic lenses for better audio reproduction. The home theatre experience is complete with two 10.1-inch rear-seat entertainment screens, and you can enjoy all that as you recline in the rear seat. Oh, not just that, there’s also a massage and ventilation feature available. You can stretch and relax in your seat as you have a heated foot massage that comes with two programs and three intensities.

The new A8 L is powered by a 3.0-litre turbo-petrol engine with a 48-volt mild-hybrid system, producing 335 bhp and 50.99 kgm. It has an 8-speed automatic transmission and Audi’s Quattro all-wheel-drive system. That’s good enough for it to cover the 0-100-kph sprint in 5.7 seconds. On the safety side of things, it comes with eight airbags which can be upgraded to ten, and also comes with an option of central airbags for the front and rear. We can’t wait to sample these fancy features, and do stay tuned for our review on it.
