There’s a new-ish Yamaha R15 that’s been launched at Rs 1.58 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Specifically, this one is the R15S V3. Yes, it’s got nothing to do with the R15 V4. If anything, it saves you Rs 13,000 over the V4 variant.

As compared to the R15 V3, the R15S features a ‘unibody seat’ that should make your pillion’s journey a wee bit comfortable. Everything else on the bike remains unchanged. It gets the same 155cc liquid-cooled engine producing a healthy 18.6 bhp@10000 rpm and 1.44 kgm@8500 rpm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed ‘box and also comes with an assist and a slipper clutch. Of course, it’ll continue to offer other electronic nannies and goodies that are available on the V3. With features like a multi-function LCD instrument cluster with gear shift indicator, side stand with engine cut-off switch, an aluminium swingarm, dual-channel ABS and a wide 140/70 R17 rear section tyre, the R15S V3 is a good bargain if you don’t want to pay for the more premium V4.

If you’re wondering to buy one, you better be a fan of the colour Blue because it’ll be only offered in Racing Blue colour scheme. Also, check out the picture comparison between the R15 V3 (above) and the R15S V3 (below). Do let us know which one would be your pick.
