It’s a time to rejoice for Suzuki Motorcycle India Private Limited (SMIPL), as it has crossed the five lakh milestone in sales figures in the financial year 2017-18. The motorcycle company has also reported strong sales figures for the month of February: a total of 52,083 units (46,147 units in the domestic market; and 5936 units in exports).

This Y-O-Y growth has resulted in a 37.2 percent increase in the domestic market and a 29.3 percent rise overall. The overall cumulative figures from April 2017 to February 2018 period now stands at 5,22,929 units with domestic sales responsible for than more than 86 percent of the overall sales.

Suzuki Motorcycle India’s EVP, Sale and Marketing, Sajeev Rajasekharan said, “The year 2018 has proved to be a very successful year for Suzuki Motorcycle India as we have surpassed the 5 lakh unit sales milestone. At the Auto Expo 2018, we showcased our roadmap for the coming year with the new Burgman Street, the GSX-S750 and the Intruder FI. The feedback from both, our existing as well as prospective customers has been great so far and we are looking forward to launch both these products soon. Backed by a robust product portfolio that is leveraging from the paradigm shift in customer preference towards premium motorcycles and premium scooters, we are now geared up towards ending the financial year on a strong note, and build on this foundation for future growth.”
