The FZS-Fi has been given a wardrobe update by Yamaha. It has a new Dlx variant in its lineup and comes with a few changes like a new LED tail-light, additional flashers on the Dlx variant, and three new colour options: Metallic Black, Metallic Deep Red and Solid Gray. And specific to the metallic black and red colour options, you’ll see a two-level seat with dual-tone colours, new graphics and shiny coloured alloys.

Mechanically, there’s nothing that’s changed on the FZS-Fi. It is still powered by a 149cc single-cylinder engine which produces a decent 12 bhp at 7250 rpm and 1.36 kgm at 5500 rpm, paired to a 5-speed ‘box. Up front, the bike gets telescopic forks with seven-step adjustable mono-shock. Braking is carried out by a 282-mm disc up front and 220-mm disc at the rear with single-channel ABS.

Another addition that’s made it on the FZS’s list is the Connect-X app which will help you electronically lock the bike, keep track of its location, and if you still can’t locate it, then you can command the bike to answer back and it will respond by beeping its horn and blinking its indicators. This all might seem gimmicky, but it’s a plus if your bike’s always parked around million other bikes. Other features like the negative LCD instrument cluster, lower engine guard and LED headlight are still the same. This cool, sporty FZS is priced at Rs 1.16 lakh (ex-Delhi), while the Dlx variant is priced at Rs 1.19 lakh (ex-Delhi). Both the bikes will be available in the dealership from the second week of January. Do let us know if you like the FZS’s funky golden coloured alloys.
